Detroit Diesel engine Inframe Kits
Engine overhaul kit, engine rebuilding kit, engine repair kit for Detroit Diesel engines are the same as inframe kits for Detroit Diesel engines. These engine overhaul kits consist of the following items. The complete set of cylinder kits, crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings, thrust washers, head gasket set, oil pan gasket and rocker cover gasket. All you need to do is select the Detroit Diesel engine model you have regardless of the application. This means that it does not matter whether your engine is a Detroit Diesel marine engine or Detroit Diesel truck engine. All you must do is select your engine model. Example of this would be a Detroit Diesel 8V71 natural and not turbo. Once you have narrow it down, then you will see that the Detroit Diesel engine 8V71 natural has 2 options. One piece piston and 2 piece piston. Select the appropriate one that your engine has. If not sure, ask you mechanic. This is very simple for the diesel mechanic to check. If is the one piece piston, then select the inframe kit for the 8V71 natural one piece piston.

2. Crankshaft bearing size: standard, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30 (Applicable to all engines)
3. Connecting rod bearing size: standard, 0.10, 0.20, or 0.30 (Applicable to all engines)
4. Type of rocker cover gasket: old style (black) or new style (gray). Applicable to 3-71,4-71,6-71,6V71,8V71,12V71,16V71
